What our clients are saying…

"ECRI has positively changed the outlook for not only our students but our teachers as well! Our students' Idaho Reading Indicator scores and reading outcomes, in general, have improved. The magic of using ECRI, for intervention, lies in the fact that it matches and reinforces the Tier 1 instruction. The culture of our school has changed as teachers finally feel confident in their ability to teach foundational skills! Central Elementary loves ECRI!"

− Lisa Jensen at Central Elementary, Sugar Salem ID

"As a secondary-trained ELA teacher, I have never been more impressed with the power of ECRI and how it connects so smoothly with the science of reading. ECRI has provided a level of understanding to teachers they have rarely had as a part of their professional training history. When I hear teachers speak about how ECRI supports all students, I finally feel we are focusing on how equity can and should be the foundation of all curriculum work within our school systems. ECRI may seem to be an intervention, but when teachers talk about how even advanced learners are growing in spelling and writing, I know we are on the right track."

− Jonathan, State College Area School District

"ECRI has helped our complex area systematize phonics instruction across our elementary schools. It has provided our teachers with explicit and systematic phonics lessons that are used in 10 of our 13 schools in their K-2 classrooms. Using ECRI across the majority of our complex areaʻs elementary schools has helped with the continuity of instruction when students transfer to another school. It also helped schools align their tier 1 and 2 instruction so students are learning the same content."

− Michelle Tom, Maui, HI

"Enhanced Core Reading Instruction (ECRI) has significantly changed the teaching and learning trajectory in our school community. Teachers and instructional support staff engage in ongoing professional learning, including instructional and peer-to-peer coaching, to acquire and calibrate ECRI instructional routines and practices. The equitable growth and achievement for each student are evidenced in our universal and diagnostic screening tools. Most importantly, these ECRI strategic systems have empowered our students to be confident and empowered readers in our school and now district-wide! I wouldn't be the leader I am today without this literacy journey I am on. I am proud to say it is now required in each of the schools in our district, and I still have folks statewide that reach out."

− Kimberly Miles, principal in Oregon

"In 2019, Easterly Parkway Elementary School began implementing ECRI in our first-grade classrooms. We began seeing immediate results that positively impacted our children. Our proficiency that year went from 58% to 85% within 6 months of implementation. This was during the COVID-19 pandemic. When those students returned in the fall, they remained at 85% proficiency, and we saw no dip! Now all eight elementary schools in our district have implemented this impactful initiative and our results continue to be impressive!"
